The historic Bailey Theatre in Camrose, Alberta, Canada opened its doors in 1911 as a vaudeville theatre and dancehall. It is the oldest theatre of its type in Alberta and is a municipal historic site. A $5.5 million restoration and upgrading project has been on-going for more than two years and a soft opening is planned for the fall of 2010. This flat floor facility offers 110 permanent seats in the balcony, flexible seating on the main floor, creating a theatre style capacity for up to 400 patrons. A catering kitchen and separate bistro area will provide the capability to host dinner theatre, receptions and a wide range of uses. Special attention has been provided by the Board of Directors, architect and consultants to provide a top quality, multi-use facility with strong ties to the community and surrounding area. Camrose is a city of 17,000 in north-central Alberta with a trading area over 110,000.
