Get in Touch Where it all began In 2004, Tourism Camrose was founded as a society. This group raised the bar for tourism in Camrose championing events including the renowned Purple Martin Festival and the Camrose Growing Rural Tourism Conference. This society folded in 2020. 2004 2022 Upon Tourism Camrose folding, there was a clear gap left in the community. The work of Tourism Camrose was reinvigorated as part of the City of Camrose's Economic Development activities. Since 2022, these are some highlights of the work that Tourism Camrose has participated in: Re-design and launch the Tourism Camrose website Develop and begin implementing a Camrose Events Destination Strategy Print Camrose & Area Tourism Guides (2024 & 2025 ) Choose Camrose Region Campaign (gnome scavenger hunt) The Passport Campaign Pursuing investment in 10 Tourism Opportunities Meet The Team Meet Maven Maven attended the U of A Augustana campus in Camrose from 2017 to 2021 and fell in love with the community. Her passion for tourism was spurred on by working as a whitewater rafting guide as a summer job during university. She brings technical and hands-on expertise to this role. The friendly vendors offer everything from baking, preserves, frozen treats, kettle corn, and snack foods to food trucks, dog treats, and more! This market is for park patrons and the surrounding area. Arrive early for the best selection of products. Friday 4pm to 8pm Saturday 10am to 2pm More info Farmer's Market Dark Sky Preserve Are you all about star gazing? Miquelon Lake Provincial Park is located in the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve meaning it is a great place to look at the stars and experience some extraordinary astronomical events. Hesje Observatory Located at the Augustana Miquelon Lake Research Station, the Hesje Observatory is a great place for astronomical observatory through one of their 3 telescopes. There is an observation deck around the dome where portable telescopes can be set up. Drop-in Thursday nights $15/person weather permitting. More info Stargazing Summer Recreation Beach & Lake The lake is not favourable for swimming but the beach is great for sunbathing and building sand castles. Canoeing, kayaking, and stand up paddling (SUPing) is possible. Hiking & Biking The interconnecting trail system is a scenic setting for hiking and mountain biking. More info Family Discovery Packs Get a discovery pack at the Miquelon Lake Centre and go on an adventure learning about animals, water, and more! The backpacks include everything you need to start your own nature discovery. Summer Recreation Winter Recreation Cross-country skiing & snowshoeing With 20km of backcountry ski trails, classic skiing through the park. Dogs are permitted on the trails. Skijouring Cross-country skiing with the help of one or more dogs equipped with sled dog harnesses is allowed on many trails. Fat biking Fat biking is permitted on certain trails traversing the park. Skating Check the website for outdoor ice conditions and rink information. The insulated yurts are tent-like structures mounted on a wooden deck and completely equipped for your convenience and enjoyment! Camping Conferences The Aspen Room Rent the Aspen Room year round in the Miquelon Lake Park Centre to hold a meeting, or host a workshop. This space is versatile with kitchen amenities, projection technology, washroom facilities, space for up to 70 people, and easy access to the stunning scenery nearby! Bookings in this space are best planned for day-time hours. During the fall-winter seasons booking availability is variable as staff capacity allows. More info Conferences Group Camping When May 18 to September 4 7 group use sites With cooking shelters, firepits, power, outhouses, tap water, and nearby sewage disposal, Miquelon Lake's Group Use Sites are picturesque and accessible places for hosting groups of up to 150 people.
