The pond is stocked with rainbow trout and a busy place for fisherman in the summer and winter. In the summer of 2010, Camrose County completed the reclamation of the Blatz Gravel Pit. In addition to reclaiming a decommissioned gravel pit, Camrose County has been innovative by incorporating numerous amenities to provide wildlife habitat and a community attraction.
